What Is Cold-Pressed Dog Food—and Is It Right for Your Dog?
Cold-pressed dog food is a dry format made by pressing prepared ingredients into compact pieces. The pressing stage differs from conventional extrusion, which uses heat and pressure to form many familiar kibbles. The method describes how a food is made; the recipe tells you what your dog will eat.

What cold pressing means
Cold-pressed food is not frozen food, and the word “cold” does not mean every ingredient has remained raw. Ingredients can be prepared before pressing, and production methods vary between manufacturers.
For everyday feeding, the practical result is a dry pellet that can be measured and served from the bag. There is no frozen meal to thaw. Whether the format suits your dog depends on the whole recipe and your dog's individual needs, not the name of the process alone.
What to check in a recipe
Read the composition, the stated life-stage suitability and the feeding instructions. A familiar recipe name is a useful starting point, but it does not identify all the ingredients.
Our cold-pressed range lists 76% chicken in Chicken, 70% beef in Beef, 70% duck in Duck and 73% trout in Fish. These are the named ingredient percentages, not a claim that each food contains only that animal source.
For example, Duck also lists beef tallow, while Fish includes goose fat. Other declared ingredients include fish-derived ingredients and green-lipped mussel. Read the full product information if a particular ingredient matters for your dog.
The 80/20 range name should not be read as “80% chicken” across every recipe. Check the actual composition of the food you are choosing.
Serving and storage in daily life
