How to Serve & Store Freeze-Dried Raw Dog Food
Pets True House freeze-dried raw meals can be served dry or softened with warm water. Start with the measured food amount, keep fresh drinking water available and follow the storage instructions for your particular pack.

1 Measure the food
Weigh the dry pieces on kitchen scales before adding water. Use the adult feeding guide or the Chicken Puppy feeding guide, as appropriate.
The chart gives a daily amount. Divide it between meals rather than serving the full daily ration each time. Keep a clean scoop or utensil for the food instead of using the feeding bowl to scoop from the pouch.
2 Serve dry or soften
For dry serving, put the weighed food into a clean bowl. There is no frozen portion to thaw.
If your dog prefers a softer texture, add warm water. Rehydration is optional for these meals; the food does not become a larger food portion just because water has increased its weight.
Follow any preparation instructions on your pack and serve the prepared portion promptly. Do not use a generic soaking ratio or storage time from another brand for this food.
3 Reseal and store the pouch
Keep the food in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture. Close the pack securely after each use and check its best-before information.
Our Beef Adult and Chicken Puppy feeding panels specify using the food within four weeks of opening. Check the instructions for your chosen recipe rather than applying that period to a different product automatically.
The freeze-dried toppers have their own guidance: best used within ten days of opening. Read about meals and toppers.
Keep feeding equipment clean
Wash your hands before and after handling food. Clean bowls, utensils and feeding surfaces after use, and keep raw food separate from other foods. A cupboard-friendly product still needs careful handling.
Choose your recipe
Our adult freeze-dried meals include Chicken, Beef, Turkey and Fish. For puppies, choose the Chicken Puppy recipe and its own feeding chart.

Serving questions
Do I need freezer space?
Not for storing the dry freeze-dried food according to its pack instructions. Keep it sealed in a suitable cool, dry place.
Can I prepare a wet portion in advance?
Serve rehydrated food promptly. For any storage of a prepared portion, ask for product-specific advice rather than assuming the dry pack's shelf life applies.
